Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an integrative therapeutic approach that combines the use of ketamine with skilled psychological support to help individuals access deeper insight, emotional processing, and meaningful change.
I offer preparation, therapeutic support during sessions, and integration therapy for individuals engaging in ketamine treatment through a licensed medical provider. My role is to help you feel grounded, supported, and safe throughout the process—before, during, and after your ketamine experiences.
What KAP Can Support
KAP may be helpful for individuals who feel stuck or have not experienced the relief they hoped for through traditional therapy approaches. This can include:
Depression that has been difficult to treat
Anxiety and chronic stress
Trauma and PTSD
Emotional patterns that feel persistent or hard to shift
A general sense of disconnection, numbness, or feeling “stuck”
This work is always collaborative and individualized. Together, we determine whether this approach aligns with your needs and goals.
Our Role in Your Care
I do not prescribe or administer ketamine. Instead, I work alongside your prescribing medical provider to support the psychotherapy portion of your treatment.
My role includes:
Preparation: Helping you feel informed, resourced, and emotionally ready
Sitting Support or Guide: Offering a steady, supportive presence during your ketamine sessions, while collaborating with your treatment team to ensure your experience is held with care and meaningfully integrated
Integration: Supporting you in making sense of your experiences and translating insights into lasting change
This process is designed to help you not only have meaningful experiences, but also to carry those insights into your daily life in a sustainable way.
What the Process Looks Like
Preparation Sessions
We begin by building a strong therapeutic foundation. This includes getting to know your history, clarifying your intentions, and developing tools to help you feel safe and supported throughout the process.
Ketamine Sessions
Ketamine sessions are conducted through your medical provider. When appropriate, our staff will be present to provide therapeutic support, helping you stay grounded and gently guiding the process if needed.
Integration Sessions
Integration is where the deeper work happens. Together, we explore your experience, process emotions that may arise, and connect insights to your everyday life, relationships, and patterns.
A Trauma-Informed, Somatic Approach
Our work is rooted in a trauma-informed and somatic framework, meaning we pay close attention not only to your thoughts and emotions, but also to how your experiences are held in the body.
Ketamine can create space for new perspectives—but lasting change comes from thoughtful integration, nervous system support, and a pace that respects your capacity. You remain in control of the process at all times, and we move in a way that feels safe and attuned to you.
Safety and Considerations
KAP is not appropriate for everyone. A thorough medical and psychological screening by your prescribing provider is essential to determine whether ketamine is a safe option for you.
This work can sometimes bring up intense emotions or memories. My role is to help you navigate these experiences with care, grounding, and support.
Getting Started
If you’re feeling stuck, or if previous therapy hasn’t brought the relief you’re looking for, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy may offer a different path forward.
I welcome you to reach out to learn more or to schedule a consultation. We can talk through your questions, explore whether this approach is a good fit, and discuss next steps at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
You don’t have to navigate this process alone.
